The print edition London Zoo Ibis (self filmed) is based on an expressive, large-scale drawing created by Tina Ribarits in 2024. The original was executed in pastel, watercolour pencil and acrylic on black paper and measures 75 × 105 cm. It is also available through Galerie Reinthaler. The edition was produced on high-quality Hahnemühle Museum Etching paper (350 gsm) in a format of 29.7 × 42 cm. It is limited to 49 copies and two artist’s proofs. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and comes in a sturdy, acid-free cardboard folder.

Tina Ribarits (*1981 Vienna, lives and works in Berlin) deals with the representation of those living beings that we awkwardly refer to as animals. Those that we encounter face to face, those whose numbers are rapidly dwindling or have already disappeared completely, and those that cheerfully multiply in the form of digital proxies. Tina Ribarits traces these hybrid beings in their radical otherness in both digital and analog form, for example in the shape of life-size birds. The large-format pastel drawings, on the other hand, were created using looped video clips: animal footage from social media, zoos and nature documentaries. All of them already caught up in the machinery of human representation.

Die Edition wurde auf hochwertigem Hahnemühle Museum Etching Papier (350 g/m²) im Format 29,7 × 42 cm produziert. Sie ist auf 49 Exemplare und zwei Artist’s Proofs limitiert. Jeder Print ist von der Künstlerin signiert und nummeriert und wird in einer stabilen, säurefreien Kartonmappe geliefert.

Tina Ribarits (*1981 Wien, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin) beschäftigt sich mit der Darstellung jener Lebewesen, die wir unbeholfen als Tiere bezeichnen. Jene, denen wir von Angesicht zu Angesicht begegnen, jene, deren Anzahl rapide zurückgeht oder die schon komplett verschwunden sind, und jene, die sich munter in Form digitaler Stellvertreter multiplizieren. Im Digitalen als auch Analogen spürt Tina Ribarits diesen hybriden Wesen in ihrer radikalen Andersartigkeit nach, beispielsweise in der Gestalt von lebensgroßen Vögeln. Die großformatigen Pastellzeichnungen wiederum entstanden anhand geloopter Videoclips: Tieraufnahmen aus Social Media, Tierparks und Naturdokumentationen. Allesamt bereits gefangen in der menschlichen Repräsentationsmaschinerie.
