Erlebnisse als Tourist sind "strange" und gleichzeitig "typisch". Die geschaffenen Erinnerungen haben etwas Absurdes, werden doch Zeit und Ort in fein säuberliche Stücke aufbereitet, die wenig Ähnlichkeit mit der Realität vor Ort haben. Im Falle der Skulpturen von Catharina Bond gerinnen flüchtige Berührungen zu Objekten und werden österreichische Speisen zu Persönlichkeiten.

The tourist takes snapshots of life. Experiences are simultaneously “strange” and “typical”. There is an absurdity to the memories that we create as tourists, as we cut neat slices of time and place that bear little resemblance to any local reality. Catharina Bond´s sculptures point to the strangeness of these links, as ephemeral touch is congealed into a tangible object, and emblematic Austrian delicacies are personified, giving them a latent agency.
