Unique Artist Key Chain "Touri 6" by Catharina Bond

The Austrian Artist Catharina Bond created this Unique Key Chain "Touri 6" out of silicone and plastic eyes, it measures 3 x 7 x 3 cm. The chain is made of real silver. It reminisces on the absurdity of touristic memorabilia. 

Catharina Bond's works (*1980 in Vienna, lives and works in Vienna) utilize humorous-poetic ways and forms of exaggeration to challenge our way of thinking. This unique work was made in kinship with the exhibition "Tourist" held at the Gallery Reinthaler in 2023/2024. The tourism theme explores the absurdity of the memories that we create as tourists, as we cut neat slices of time and place that bear little resemblance to any local reality. Catharina Bond´s sculptures point to the strangeness of these links, as ephemeral touch is congealed into a tangible object, and emblematic Austrian delicacies are personified, giving them a latent agency.
